Awwww. It's awesome that you got to fence club nationals for 3 years! I only got to fence one...although I'm sure that would have been different had I stayed with the team this year. Alas, I am not as brave as you. I think you had a great run...or fence...whatever you want to call it. Congrats on doing so well this year! I'm sure you're a big part of why the team placed as high as they did :)

As Brad once wrote to me after I thought that I should just give up because I was hopelessly untalented, it's not so much the medals that people remember or the wins as the friendships and actual personalities. Brad had examples from when he had been on the team and on thinking of mine, none of them have to do with winning anything. I guess what I'm tryiing to say is that the personal impact you make lasts far longer than any win ratio. I know it sounds super cheesy, but it's true. Don't get me wrong, the winning team stuff was great, but all my favorite memories have more to do with stuff surrounding competetions and practices than actual competing. You are in quite a few of mine, so you can be guareentied to live on in that way, as well as an unsung hero. Congrats on doing so well in your last nationals and having such a great run on the team.
