Stu, you're absolutely right about relativity. I have chronic pain, although it's not as bad as yours, and I serve on a board of trustees for a disabled soldiers' charity with some people who are far worse of than me. I never liked to complain because they were worse off, until one of them explained that there wasn't some sort of 'priority order', and I was entitled to bitch on a bad day when I can't reach my shoelaces
