Some fun :)

Just some carving on a book cover I'm making. :)

Carved and tooled on 4-5oz leather. Wish I'd watched the cloth this has taken forever lol.

First Miaka:
I know the original image for this was very dark - blacks and reds - but I felt it would be too much darkness overall. Therefore, exercising my paintbrush (which I broke. twice.), I went with a design a bit reminiscent of her priestess robes, only...not.

I kept her hair ribbons pink, like in the anime (and because I can), but I tried to give them a graded effect as they shone in the light.

Yes, it's not 100% pure to her priestess look, or any look, really... But to me she looks all lovely and her colors make me think of Valentine's Day...and Suzaku IS the God of Love, after all.... so.... *grins* I kinda like her lol. I'm all sorts of happy with her hair and the ribbons, I was SO worried she'd look like she had a giant sausage on her head.

Second Miaka:
Miaka holding a globe. Yes, I ran away with myself with an artbook image lol.

For the globe I did a white wash, then the blue, then green+brown then the white cloud little nimbus.

Well, for her... the original image has her in dark robes with pink accents. Too dark. I could have gone straight pink but... too light.

So, I fell back on Suzaku and my own fun. Suzaku's element? Fire. God of? Love. Well, I already played off of the love in her other pic...

So I went with FIRE. I started with a base red wash, then swept in some darker red. and blacker red towards the hems. Then I went back over with red-orange and orange, added orange accents. A little on the bottom of her robe and sleeve, on her shoes, and the neckline of the robe as well.

I REALLY like how it looks, to be honest!

Nuriko:
Houki's pose, turned her into Nuriko.
(I love Nuriko so much more lol). As you can see, feminine form but no feminine bits. HAH take that, Houki.

Anyhoo... I kept the sash and sleeves as sheer as I could. The collar is from an artbook picture, I liked the pattern. The gem in the hair dealy-bopper is actually kinda a nod to Hotohori's sword. *grins* Can't help my fangirl self. ^,~.

Did highlights and lowlights again in the hair, only less drastic when it came to the lowlights. I think it came out kinda neat.

Enjoy! :-D
