End of the Story

I watched all episodes and OVA's of the series and in the beginning if I am not mistaken when yui is first reading the book doesn't she say that who ever reads the book gets the same number as wishes as the priestess does. But who was the readers was it yui or miaka's brother and what were their wishes ( Read more... )

Thanks for the reply. Yeah thats what I was thinking for the wishes. But I also think Keisuke could have wished for miaka and tamahome to be together. And that could explain how even after it was said a beast god could not grant for some one in the book world or be sent to miakas world but tamahome still got to go and he ended up in keisule's or Tetsuya's class. Maybe the reason they can't grant it is people in the book world and the wish from the reader both have to want that person to come into the real world. Thats why for tatara and suzanno they could not be together because no one in the real world knew or wanted him their besides her. I don't know just a thought, probably does not make sense. It could also be just that suzaku stands for love and it would be too sad if they didn't end up together ( ... )

Also if you think the priestess of byako and genbu were friends or their families knew each other so it seems that there was not that big of a gap between the 2 of their stories so it could be that its not yui's fault that she got pulled into the book world but that once miaka left, her story kind of ended, it did say that once the priestess fulfills her duties she is sent home but miaka went home without summoning suzaku, so the new story and priestess needed to start, it could also have to do with her wish.

I'm not really sure I count Eikouden as part of Fushigi Yuugi or the 1st or 2nd OVA (one of those was nothing like the manga, I just can't remember). The TV series is pretty close to the manga though :) If you want to know more about the Priestess of Genbu her story is currently being published and close to being finished, so maybe we'll find out some important details soon.

The "reader" is the priestess - since they become the main character (the priestess) and live the story.

Hence Yui making her three, and Miaka making her three. :)

so is yui the only reader and if so does that mean she got 3 more wishes than a normal reader would she got her wish as the reader and her 3 as priestess.

what about Keisule or Tetsuya did they get wishes too? What would they have been (they could be wishes that were grant without them knowing it)

Also off topic of they wishes discussion but did miaka and taka have a boy or girl in the manga is it a boy and in the anime it is a girl because isn't hikari a girls name, but some where I think I read that they had a boy (I think it is a girl)

Miaka and Yui are both readers, as was Takiko and Suzuno. They're the ones who originally opened the books - NOT the person who keeps reading after the Priestess/Reader enters. So a Reader is NOT Keisuke or Tetsuya or Yui (not when she is reading for Miaka, but she IS a Reader as Priestess of Seiryuu). Takiko's father is not a Reader, either. Takiko is - she's the Priestess ( ... )
