the icon was made in PS CS, used selective color, not translatable.

+ remember! it's not sure that these options work the same way on different pictures. play around the settings until you reach my result. + i choose a screencap of sex and the city.

step 001. crop and resize your picture to 100x100 pixels.



step 002. duplicate the layer 4 times (set the last screen layer to 40%/) usually it's not necessary to make 4 screen layers but the house screencaps are mostly darker. sharpen the last screen layer!



step 003. go to layer >> new adjustment layer >> hue / saturation . and make these settings

master: saturation: +20



step 004. make a new layer, fill with #1A0C00 and set it to exclusion, 100%.



step 005. go to layer >> new adjustment layer >> selective color and make these settings

reds:
CYAN: -100
MAGENTA: 0
YELLOW: 0
BLACK: 0

yellows:
CYAN: -100
MAGENTA: 0
YELLOW: -100
BLACK: 0

neutrals:
CYAN: +60
MAGENTA: +20
YELLOW: -4
BLACK: +20



step 006. go to layer >> new adjustment layer >> color balance . and make these settings

shadows: -10 , 0 , -10
midtones: 0 , +12 , +7
highlights: 0 , +9 , +20



step 007. make a new layer, fill with #010012 and set it to exclusion, 100%.



step 008. make a new layer, fill with #D4ECFF and set it to color burn, 100%.



step 009. make a new layer, fill with #FFE2D4 and set it to color burn, 100%.



step 010. make a new layer, fill with #D9D9D9 and set it to color burn, 100%.



if your result is too bright delete one screen layer (of course if it's dark you can make more screen layers.

and your done! (of course you can add text/brushes/textures or anything)
