[Earlier in the day, Trunks was in the landlady's room, working on a chair that had been broken. As he did so, he accidentally bumped the landlady's desk, and a sheet of paper slid off. He stopped to pick it up...then did a double take when he saw the contents. Making sure he wasn't seeing things, he read it through again, then folded it up and put ( Read more... )

. . . I've developed my own shorthand for notes. But I'm not too keen on scribe work. What's the deal?

...I found a document. One that every person on this island should see.

It's not another page from the mayor's diary, is it? If it's that important, though, I wouldn't mind copying it for you.

That's exactly what it is. But don't worry about it -- I've spoken to someone who can make exact copies of it.

How long is the document? It might take some time, but I could try my hand at writing copies out...

It's a page. How quickly can you manage that on your own?

Well, that was an estimate. And I think we could get away with one per occupied room, even for rooms in which two people live. That cuts it down to 39. And if no one can make 39 photocopies, I'll try to break it down evenly among everyone who replies here and myself.

I'd appreciate it. It doesn't sound like we have anyone capable of making an exact copy, so I'd appreciate having plenty of people to copy it by hand.

Uh, about that? The scarab... it says it can make exact photocopies. I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know if it's lying or not, but now's never been a better time.

All the better, then. Exact photocopies would be far more believable than four people transcribing it.
