Water-rings. She carried Leto's water. By Fremen rites, she was his wife, even if Arrakeen authority had little regard for Fremen ritual.
She cared little for what Arrakeen laws thought of her life.
The child asleep in her arms scared her a little less every day. She could not say that Hania didn't scare her at all, yet. Maybe she never would.
But she would happily greet their visitors. And Hania herself might wake and say hello, as well.

"Someone might have dyed my hair green two weeks ago, and I don't believe I would know it yet," Alice confessed with a smile. "I nap when she naps. Though I'm spoiled, as Leto needs less sleep than I."
Hania, for her part, was turning large blue eyes up at the new face as she chewed on her first.
"Are you awake?" Alice murmured. "I've a feeling you're about to become very popular, little one."
