It was just a passing thought, though, and the proceedings held her attention well enough. It was a foreign ceremony, with foreign words, but damn if it didn't still manage to make her tear up a little bit.

The palace is like a small city in itself, full of people, and Arrakeen is the center of the universe, full of pilgrims, people involved in the spice trade and with most peoples of the Imperium represented. It's not entirely safe, not even if you claim to be a friend of the Emperor.
