After the swamp, after the Luck Dragon, after the remembering, there had been Fandom. And Fandom had been itself again, which was a relief, except for the part where not all of the missing had come home just yet. They were filtering through the requests, perhaps, and the universe had a considerable backlog to its name. She had remembered as hard as she could, and Ghanima and Hania would surely have done their parts. Leto would turn up.

She had told herself that, firmly, until her mind believed it. Her heart hadn't. But she no longer wanted to drown in the swamp. Hania needed her. Hania was alive, and safe. Hania. No more of this self-pitying nonsense. She would go back to the hotel, and ... wait to see what came next.

Sleep had come, far faster than she had anticipated; she would swear she had only lay down for a moment, to rest her eyes. Exhaustion had done the rest.

She stirred when a hand brushed her face, but it was the voice, that voice, which pulled her from a sound sleep. Her hand reached up to clasp his, to hold it against ( ... )

He sat down on the bed, then leaned forward and kissed her neck, wrapping one arm around her.

It was. Her arms were pulling him down to lie next to her, tears already spilling down her face.

"I th-thought I'd lost you," was all she managed before words gave way.

"It caught me," he said, shifting to curl up beside her and pull her close. "But clearly I'm not that easy to lose." Another kiss, then, this one to take away the tears on her face.
