She had told herself that, firmly, until her mind believed it. Her heart hadn't. But she no longer wanted to drown in the swamp. Hania needed her. Hania was alive, and safe. Hania. No more of this self-pitying nonsense. She would go back to the hotel, and ... wait to see what came next.
Sleep had come, far faster than she had anticipated; she would swear she had only lay down for a moment, to rest her eyes. Exhaustion had done the rest.
