Ghanima stuck her head in the door. "You," she accused, leveling a finger at her twin and ignoring her grandmother and niece in favor of zeroing in on her brother-target. "There is a crate of Landsraad complaints in my study. Why is there a crate of Landsraad complaints in my study?"

He managed to say this with an absolutely straight face, which fooled exactly no one.

"I am going to run away and let you rule this empire by yourself," Ghanima threatened, a smile threatening to crack past her scowl. "Give them to Farad'n next time, Leto. He'll actually pretend to care what they want."

She knelt down to hold her arms open. "Hania, I have some new coloring pages for you."

"I will have to be more careful in the future, then." Now Leto didn't even bother to be serious. "But you're right about Farad'n. He has more patient than you." Here he glanced at Jessica, not sure if she had yet seen her former student.

Hania dived into her aunt's arms. "Coloring pages of what? Whatever it is it can't be purple. Not today, at least. And I made a drawing for Lady Jessica."
