Because Sparkle had woken up that weekend with a vague sense of terror hovering over him, and the more he thought about the weekend, the more he needed to know if what had been said was them, or if what had been said was Fandom. And Sparkle... wasn't completely certain he could handle it if it was all Fandom.
So... he was calling. And nerving himself up to actually waiting for Leto to answer the phone, rather than freaking out and hanging up and pretending none of it had ever happened. That was a thing he was doing.
So far, he wasn't terrible at it.

"Hello Sparkle." Leto's voice was neutral, in the way of someone who was used to controlling emotional expressions when necessary.

He swallowed and started pacing the floor. Okay. Neutral. Maybe neutral wasn't bad. Maybe it didn't mean that Leto was, like, about to dump him or something.
Yeah. He'd cling to that.
