Yesterday had been dull. Representatives from several of the smaller Houses had asked for an audience, where they had appealed to him to increase the Spice quota allowed to them. He wasn't going to do that of course, but he had let them talk, which had added to their disappointment. Well, anger might be a better word. So, a dull day

Of course, it was also possible that someone else would find him first. A certain somebody who liked being a surprise almost as much as he liked being surprised himself. It had taken a bit of asking around before he figured out where Leto was, and he'd felt sort of out of place walking through the halls on the way to find him, but... well, a surprise was a surprise, right? And he'd worked his way up to a smile by the time he stepped out onto the terrace into the shade behind Leto, feeling a little better about just dropping in already.

"So, are you surprised yet, or am I going to have to kiss some surprise into you first?"

He could have started with 'hello,' but that was for other people, clearly.

Leto looked up and quickly got to his feet. "If I say I'm already surprised, does that mean I don't get a kiss?"

He suspected he knew the answer to that already actually, and he was close enough he reached out to pull Sparkle close.

Yes, why start with 'hello'?

"I bet we could manage some pretty surprising kisses if we really wanted," Sparkle decided, stepping up to Leto with a smile and leaning up for that (not actually all that surprising) kiss all the same.

Yeah, this had been a good idea. This right here, wrapping his arms around Leto and getting lost in a kiss, was already a marked improvement on his week thus far.

"We should try that perhaps," Leto said when he pulled away from Sparkle's lips. Leaning closer again he nudged the tip of his nose against Sparkle's cheek. "I've missed you."

Sparkle had just managed one of Leto's favourite surprises.
