Hemingway first attracted me to Italy. I cannot remember which book it was. Or books. But he did. Cicero did the rest. ;)

(Some combination, Cicero the Wimp and Hemingway the Boxer.)

Why am I talking of Hemingway? Because I read an article about Cuba and Hemingway today:

People, I do not hate Hemingway. I just don't like his scenery. I like his characters and his plots. In short, I like 85% of Hemingway! :D

Years after my parents died, my brother and I were going through their stuff and I found a bunch of Hemingways with my dad's name and phone number in them.
They were from the 70s but the phone number is still the place where my grandma (his mom) lives! It was just strange, my dad was a very purposeful man and didn't give himself over to non-purposeful things like literature. So I was surprised to find them.
Of course, haven't read them yet. Oh God the TBR pile....blegh
