The Emotional Weather Today

Does anyone else find their day to be just a little bit brightened by the presence of a special google logo?

I realize today is Halloween, and therefore a pretty predictable special logo day. This doesn't change the fact that the discovery left me smiling.

P.S. Today marks 200 days from graduation. Far too soon, if you ask me.

Their first custom logo was in honor of the Burning Man festival. I kinda doubt they'd do that today.

I noticed that, and i agree completely. Google's audience has grown too broad to recognize Burning Man. Google is decidedly mainstream, and Burning Man is decidedly not. Most people wouldn't understand the reference. More importantly though from Google's business perspective, Burning Man would probably offend the sensibilities (or something like that) of many if not most users. Sad, but true. Is this your rationale as well?

Yeah. I mean, I know people who have gone to Burning Man, and most of them have more metal in their faces than Dick Cheney's hunting partner. Not really the mainstream crowd.

Making it to Burning Man at least once is one of my goals in life. I am presently without any metal in my face. Perhaps i should remedy this.

They will surprise with their logos sometimes. Although Burning Man is probably off-limits now. And I can't think of any unorthodox logos right now of course. sheesh.
