Apparently after graduating from law school, the anticipated summer course-of-action involves taking a bar exam. And that, dear Internets, is what i have been doing since the graduation of nearly a month ago. Well, studying for that exam, more accurately. The actual exam is allegedly torturous, but only two days ( Read more... )

Damn. I was hoping you were going to say you had been putting it off and were just now starting to study.

That would have made me feel much better. Get back in character!

You know, i think not taking Barbri has been a most powerful motivating factor. Cause every other day, i feel kind of like a moron for not paying to have someone spoon-feed me this information. So then i have minor moments of panic. And then i study.

How has moving been for you? (You did move into a new place in Little Italy, didn't you?) That's been my other problem--there are so many things that still aren't right about my new place that I'm wasting a lot of good study time trying to take care of these things.

Ohhhhh...

I remember the days of the CPA exam. I can sympathize. Some day you will look back on these days and

and

uh

look back on them and be glad they are over!!

*hugs*

Hehe...i had a residence hall director who was a CPA in a life before she moved into the residence-life stage of her career. She'd provide us with anecdotal tips on studying for awful exams like the CPA - apparently she used to laminate pages and pages of formulas, so that she could study in the shower.

I have yet to take up the shower studying...but i'm still a month out yet;-)

I have what can only be deemed an unnatural love for that song. It's perfect. (As long as you don't think too much about the actual message of the song.)

I think my unnatural love was cemented by "Pitseleh" but I will not contest that the last CD was beautiful.

At target the other day I saw a new cd of his?

Yeah. I decided that was one i could do without. I mean, even with From A Basement on a Hill, there were claims of dubious authenticity. (Apparently "Ostriches & Chirping" wasn't Elliott Smith material at all, but that of a collaborator, goofing around on tape. He was prolific enough that i have enough to address any (sullen) mood...i think i'll leave the remixed and remastered parts alone.

Nothing I can say to make you feel better about the Bar exam will be anything but a lie. So keep your head down, your chin up, your books open, and your caffeine coming. Good luck to you. And remember: This, too, shall pass.

When i get nervous, i look at the bar pass rates. Eighty-eight percent in Minnesota. I know that as long as i force my person to remain in front of my books for substantially long enough each day, i will be fine.

Reminding myself just how much i'd hate to be in that bottom twelve percent...it's an impressive motivational tool:-)

don't forget to breathe.

i haven't taken it yet, but that's the only advice i ever give that has any value.

I'll take any advice anyone wants to offer (unless said advice attempts to arrive while i am sitting in a coffee shop with my head clearly buried in my books, at which point my reception might not be so warm). And generally, i agree. Breathing is important.

Thanks!
