It's true that the knock isn't very loud, but to someone spending increasing amounts of time sitting on the couch and staring at the ceiling, it's loud enough. Alanna pushes her rather impressive bulk into a standing position, exhales and moves to open the door with a grimace that quickly becomes a smile.
"Rachel! Hello." Gaze serious, Alanna studies her friend. "Come in?"
Of all things Rachel fidgeted there on the doorstep. like a flame that was considering going out in a high wind. A moment of such and she was nodding a greeting "Thanks...I...thanks"
"was I suppose to bring tea?" she asked softly, closing the door behind herself and waiting fro Alanna to settle herself comfortably once more.
"Of course not," Alanna replies, still watching her closely. Currently, Rachel reminds her of a skittish yearling. "There's tea in the kitchen, if you wouldn't mind getting it."
Waving a hand in the direction of their small but functional kitchen, Alanna gives her an apologetic look, though she suspects Rachel might appreciate having something to do with her hands.
Yes, she truly did appreciate something, anything to do...though perhaps kitchens weren't the safest place to send her. Rai wouldn't happen to agree with that, then again, it was kitchen accidents that birthed the dear tree...
She could manage tea though. The necessary thing was hot water, and that she could do without evil microwaves or stoves. "Sorry to just...show up" she noted once there were tea mugs in hand. "I..."
