Hey! Yuletide! That's a thing! And thus, this year I got a lovely little Tsuritama fic--shining at the bottom of the sea, concerning Yuki's thoughts about what to do with his life post-high school. It really is lovely, check it out ( Read more... )

I'm a bit fandomless at the moment but I will always love Phoenix Wright. I've been seriously contemplating buying a 3DS just so I can play the latest game.

Oh, Dual Destinies is amazing, the graphics are great and the fully-animated fully-voiced sequences are great and everyone is adorable. I haven't gotten to any of the old characters besides Phoenix and the judge yet, but I know Edgeworth shows up at some point and Pearl's in the DLC. (Maya, alas, is apparently relegated to a letter and one brief show of her sprite.) The new prosecutor is fun, too.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the lack of Maya and Pearl, I'd say Dual Destinies was my favorite game of the series so far. I've acquired a deep affection for both Phoenix and Apollo (and others) that getting to play as both of them is just great. Even when you're playing as the new attorney, one of them is always with you, so there's no dearth of either. Basically, it's just a great game and I highly recommend it to people who liked the first three but were bitter about Phoenix's role in the fourth.

I was worried when they first announced that Dual Destinies would have voiced cutscenes but then my brother let me play the demo on his 3DS and I was sucked right in. And the full trailer with the flashes of Pearl and Edgeworth and others got me far more excited than I thought I would. If they ever made an Ace Attorney anime I'd be all over that. :D

I've played the first four games and also the first Edgeworth game and the funny thing is I think the Apollo Justice game might be my favourite one of the series so far. I really fell in love with Apollo and Trucy and Klavier and I loved Hobo!Phoenix maybe even more so than original Phoenix. Being able to play in both worlds at the same time definitely sounds amazing. :)

I think quite a lot of people would be all over an Ace Attorney anime. The live-action movie is...okay in some parts; the actors are good and the budget is much higher than I'd expected (the way they present evidence is kind of amazing), but it's much too condensed and I'd rather they just did an original story. Also the guy who plays Edgeworth is a little too smouldering-male-model.

I'm not really a fan of Hobo!Phoenix, mostly because he seemed to have lost all his dorkiness and gained actual maturity, pssh, what is that. But he's a little more like his old self in Dual Destinies. It helps that you get to see his inner monologue again, I think ( ... )
