It does have the potential to destroy your metabolism but almost every diet does if you do not increase your calorie intake every fourth day. You have to keep your metabolism guessing so it does not get use to a certain level.
To avoid that from happening, I do all of the following:
-- Right now, I will eat every fourth day and Fast three days in a row, which accomplishes the "shake-up" strategy
-- Increase my cardio every fourth evening by 30 mins to achieve the same objective
-- Fasted cardio every morning for 30-45 mins to ensure my body is in fat burning mode
-- Never eat a starchy carb without a protein. It will increase your insulin, can be stored as fat and will increase your appetite
-- Will not eat a starchy carb after 2pm so my body has time to burn it up
-- Eat a protein and fibrous carb with each meal. Will make you feel full for a longer period of time.
-- No sugar, pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, desserts.
