i called a woman "sir" at work. granted this probably happens to everyone at one point but i was so convinced i was right. first i was like "this is a woman" but then i heard her voice! and i was like "it HAS to be a guy"...so i called them "sir". they were like "No, 'sir'" all mockingly! OH MY GOD I WAS SO EMBARASSED LOL

Also I'm going to bring up the time when I called my 7th-grade math teacher "mom." Because I've already mentioned it a zillion times and it seems relevant. D:

I've had situations at Toys R Us where I had to avoid using gender markers to keep from falling into that trap. It's really hard! XD
