in the words of an infamous english student i once taught in prague, this is "fan-fucking-tastic." i'll be there will lanterns on! i assume they will want to wisk you away to suzhou right away, but at least we'll get to chat a bit. i have midterms that week so i will be able to come visit the next weekend or after you get settled. i don't want you overwhelm you the first week - nor do i want to taint that "just got to china what the fuck is going on" month that is crucial to everyone's experience ( ... )

you know, the ones with the lesson plans, the teacher helper ones. i need help. i gotta take some crash courses in classroom management and classroom preparation, that kind of thing. you said you had tons of books?

first time for traveling out of the country, teaching, riding in a plane for over 2.5 hrs. im into taking big risks these days. i was working in an office job for the last three years and had to get out; this is the result.

when i read your post about the business cards it brought back a lot of familiar memories of staking out your corner in that kind of environment.

what did you do in china, just visit? what exactly do you do now?
