Special A - Episode 05

Wow...this episode of Special A has me feeling really...stunned I guess would be the word. I'm not sure if it's good or bad, I'm just...shocked.

SA came out really late again. Well, sort of late. It's about the right time for Zero Raws to release their version (which is the one I end up keeping for some AMV possibilities) but usually something else ( Read more... )

This episode was much better than the last one, especially since we got to see the rest of the S.A (lots of Akira this episode, she was entertaining to watch).

I agree that the sketchy crayon colour moments are rather annoying though, and I like that the animation has changed (except that Tadashi and Ryuu appear to have gotten haircuts); it does look more "normal" I guess, so I think it's an improvement. I just hope it doesn't get consistantly worse rather than better as the series progresses.

And Yahiro is going to show up next week ^^ (I support your wiffle bat threat.) Hopefully, that gets the series moving beyond the Hikari vs Kei that's been balancing with Kei x Hikari dynamic since the series started.

Yes, Akira is definitely one of my favorite characters. It was so much fun to see her show up more, of course she'll be getting the spotlight soon with all this Yahiro stuff.

The animation does look better, I'm just kind of wary of them changing it so suddenly. The characters look really different sometimes. They probably should have tried to make it more gradual. But I won't complain unless it ends up making things look really awkward.

Yes! I was incredibly excited when I saw Yahiro. Now my wiffle ball and bat return to being things I use to play with my dog. Oh, but I'm sure they'll mess up down the line. If certain scenes are taken out of the Hawaii trip, the bat comes out again. But hopefully we can avoid that.

I forgot earlier, but on the matter of the golf club, I feel for you; my brother accidently hit me in the face with a hockey stick once. I got a nasty purple bruise in the chin. =P

Ouch, a hockey stick sounds like it would hurt. As for my injury, I "bruised my cheek bone" as the doctor put it. All year when I was eight I had a dark spot on my cheek. It looked like I just had some dirt on my fact it was weird. And because of it I have a dimple up by my eye when I smile.

Heh...brothers...to this day I still think he knew I was behind him when he swung the club back. Though, I'll never prove it.

YEY! Yahiro episode is next week!
Well, to be honest, this week's animation has improved a little.

Sigh...

GAWD! Why did it have to be Gonzo?!

Gonzo, those crappy fanservice freaks who are also incredibly lazy with animation. *sigh* The animation has gotten better, but I still think they're going to mess it up since it got better. Gonzo is so lazy.

Big improvement from last week, that's for sure. (I haven't even watched last week's episode yet. ^^;) At least they moved back closer to the plot which is good...well, ok, they were but it was constantly going on and off so that's what I'm trying to say ( ... )

I haven't watched the fansubbed version of last week's episode actually. I don't think I will. Actually, I probably won't touch that episode again until SA is licensed and released on DVD in America (assuming it would be). Actually, even then ( ... )

xD Just pretend that episode never happened and just settle for the manga chapter. We don't have to relive the experience. *shudder*

Hmm, don't you think that they're trying to imitate Maki Minami's art style? That's what most animators would do if they're adapting the story from a manga, right? Hmm...but it certainly does look too weird. I have to say I like the previous style more. :/

Right? It's like she had a total face change.

They better if they want to keep most of the viewers who have read the manga and is watching the anime for the manga. -.-;

I feel like demanding a DVD extra with the scene where Hikari busts in like I did with the "Alternate Meeting" of Amu and Ikuto for Shugo Chara!. Though, considering I didn't get it for Shugo Char! I won't get it for SA either.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Kei looks more like Kei (except you know, without blonde hair). So I kind of approve of them changing him a little, but it's sort of messing everyone else up because they're getting it wrong.

Well, they seem to be slowly learning their lessons and making changes. People complained about the character designs, so they changed them. Now people are complaining about them changing the aweome parts...so they should hopefully do better now.
