Okay, I really just woke up (even though it's one PM here). Heh, I'm a master at getting sick.

But I feel the need to make journal entries when I see certain news on ANN and this is one of those occasions!

Shugo Chara! won Best Children's Manga at the 32nd Annual Kodansha Manga Awards! Celebrate with me!

I know! Isn't it just completely awesome news? It's probably too late for volume 4, but I expect that Del Rey will be publishing volume 5 with "Winner of Kodansha's Best Children Manga in 2008" or something printed on the back. The companies like to brag when they license something good.

Yes! A party is entirely necessary! Grab some balloons and some cake and ice cream as well!

It better mean an extension if Satelight has any intelligence at all. Shugo Chara!'s ratings keep going up, the merchandise is selling really well, and now the award for the manga. If they don't extend the anime...they have no sense at all.

Gah, I still have to order all the volumes out right now but I don't think I'll do that until after volume 5 is up for pre-order since the scans and most of the translations for the chapters in volume 4 are available online. Plus, I always order volumes in one big go (and I can't stand myself at times b/c of that). :/

And play DDR to Buono! songs and cookies and have a karaoke contest and more ice cream &&&... xDD;;

Yea, they'd miss out on the chance to get more money from so many die-hard fans (you don't even need to know business to know that). And while we're at it, we should totally discuss new potential stuff like the SC! movie and OVAs and omg, the list is endless! *happy!* xDD;;

All at once...whoa. I always go to Borders on Sunday or Monday and pick the books up early because they're always there since no one expects them to be out (Borders never pays attention to manga release dates, they just put them on the shelf as soon as they get them). But I am going to be ordering six volumes of the special edition of Shugo Chara! from Yes Asia all at once...once I have enough money. They each cost like 15 dollars plus crazy shipping. I think it's even too expensive for even me to think it's worth it...but I'm doing it anyways.

Yes! DDR (ha, even though I suck) and plenty of ice cream. And...heh, well we can watch the anime too (if theres time amidst all the madness).

A movie! I would love that! Actually, an OAV would be even better because I'd have to wait extra months to be able to watch the movie. Heh, but if by some miracle I won the lottery I would totally go to Japan just to see the movie in theaters (Amuto on the big screen! I can just imagine it!).

Yay! Shugo Chara definitly deserved one.

Yay. I could see ADV liencensing it. I'm kinda of hopeing for Funimation just because of Laura Bailey. See could pretty much voice the entire female cast (including Nagi/Nades in crossdresser mode) and I'd be super happy. Probably ADV though since they tend to release most of the Maho shows that 4kids doesn't ruin.

Someone actually told you Shugo Chara was crap? I hope you gave him/her a slap in the face for all of us.

But Funimation has been known to start a series and not finish it before...which is why I'm a little weary of them. But they seem to be getting back into licensing shoujo again (they licensed Mamotte Lollipop...which I have no interest in, but it shoujo), so maybe they'll lisence it.

Heh, but about 4kids...I've recently heard that they're having some business troubles. Maybe they'll soon stop terrorizing the anime community and go into bankruptcy (it is my dream to see 4kids fall someday).

Yes, they told me it was crap. It was in a Naruto vs Shugo Chara! thread (I know...random) and they were the only person for Naruto (there were even other Naruto fans in there). I couldn't smack them, but everyone flamed them constantly until the thread was locked for being...irrelevant and spammy.
