have you had any street food yet rather then buying it at a restaurant or 7-11? Street food is where the real food is, and should be cheaper. I also hope your experiencing SOME night life and not just going to bed at 4pm every day lol sam
No street food around, and the one I did see in Akihabara was about the same as a resturaunt (1000¥ per dish bleh). Kyle has been dropping me off early and the night life in Japan is really more expensive than desirable I've found (travel channel has some serious hacks, some places I can't even seem to get in as a gaijin). We're gonna try karaoke sometime with some of his friends but he was mentioning that those Japanese bars and such usually start at about 3000¥ a person (because people split the bill, that's just how it's done). I think the areas with all the street food are Kyoto and areas other than Tokyo, or just a different part of Tokyo because I've only seen the one in Akihabara the whole time I've been here (I wanted to go to Kyoto but to travel there by train is seriously like over $50!). We're still traveling around once the jet lag runs off and Kyle puts something together we'll see but like I said as a gaijin it seems to be unnecessarily hard (a gaijin without the travel channel approval and tv cameras that is)
