P.E. #5: P.E. # whatever: Robot Rodeo
Well, I figured I would post about te Rodeo, since it is what I spent literally my whole day Saturday doin'. Let's see, wake up at 6am, to go to the school, so we can load evrythin' into my monster of a car and make it to University on time. We make it there about 8, with Alice ridin' in my car, killin' her arm also to hold the robot, 'least she didn't have to drive. Unloaded everythin' (go figure, still do all the work even though I graduated.)
The Rodeo itself was a ton of fun, cause like the first person I saw was Matt from SPAM. So that was cool, cause he was so cool at UCF last year and Nationals. Then I saw a whol bunch of people, or should I say they saw me. All the people who knew last year was my Senior year were so enthralled to see me, they were all "MEGAN!!!!!!" Alex told me I was like a celeberty in robotics. lol. I reassured him that it was only the last two years cause almost everyone I knew graduated in 2004 like me...heh.
So the matches were so much fun to watch, it was less stressful and I could faust around with people like Esteban and Matt. I honestly think that my team is goin' downhill once I graduated. Me and Alice talked about it. Like I was the main and only scouter for the past two years. First year I was HP and Scouter. So we have had a big advantage, cause I loved scoutin' and knew so many people, so it was easy and we would share info. but not her and Cassie have to do it, and they have no clue how to go about it.
But I gave them some pointers, like BE NICE. lol. My huge thing was I always smiled, (or so people told me) so they loved to talk to me cause I just make them laugh. Also I knew about the robot, jsut by lookin' at it, so they loved not havin to talk remedeal to me. But yea, besides that I was the mediator. Our team didn't have a lot of fights, because I was there to work things out.
But now that I graduated we don't have that common ground anymore. Instead there is so much conflict because none of the people know how to handle situations, they are too passive or too overbearin. It is horrendous. It makes me wanna cry. Like in the first match, well, practice, I was talkin' to Bo about what they did wrong and he was liek "Well, Joel was drivin'!" and I was liek "Dude, Bo, it is a TEAM effort, you have to have COMMUNICATION, otherwise you won't ever win." And he goes into a speal sayin' was wrong, and I was like "Dude, remember how much time me and Matt spent together. There ya go..." And he sorta shut up. ugh...They were bickerin' about it durin' Dinner at applebees too, oh well...
So besides the fact I think my team was goin' downhill, it was fun. I got to talk to Krunch's new drive team (by force) and they seem pretty decent people. This was after they intentionally demolished 1402's robot, and the guy who is up to maybe be new driver told me that wasn't him. So I explained their rep to hima nd why epopel think that, and he seemed really apathetic. So he told me he was gonna strive not to be like that, and sure enough in the finals, he had a chance to flip 233 Pink and he didn't. I was so proud, that he backed off. I loved it. Hopefully they are on a road to recovery...
And let's see, what else major happened. Oh yea, I met some other cool kid on SPAM, whose name I cannot remember for the life of me. But he is all Southern and we got to talkin' about trucks and mudd boggin', so that was hella fun. And he was so entertainin', so happy I met him. He is cool people.
Other than that, not much. I don't care for a couple of the new people on the team, but what am I gonna do about it. I just think their attitude sucks. They are also very hypocritical...bah. But anyways, we ended up gettin' second with 233, though 179 and 1402 won, that sucked. I don't like some of the people on 179, just cause they are arrogant or immature...oh well.
So end of competition, Matt from SPAM steals my arm cuff. Yea my ONLY birthday gift this year...from Nikki, yea, he took that. And he lives over by liek Stewart, so it isn't like I can jsut run over and get it one day...ugh...That's kind of upsettin'... I guess it just gives me incentive to go and visit him one day. ::shrug:: He is very cool people. Seems liek a total sweetheart and is so nice to me. I adore him, he is so lovely. Maybe I will go visit him one day ^^ But eh, I dunno. Or I can just do liek Alice said "Megan, he's hot, jsut make out with him" HAHA! I so would...n't? I dunno...cool cool personality on that kid, so maybe, haha.
Anyways, I am gonna shut up before people start sayin' shit. Which reminds me, apparently I am leavin' Colonial for a team on the East coast. I have no clue how that started...--;;;
