I had an idea this might be the mystery you mentioned you did not want to jinx. Well it is said that a house is the best investment you will ever make. It must really feel good to be under your very own roof. I know that roots sunk deeply make for a happy life. I hope it turns out to be all you want it to be. We have been in our own home now for 25 years and it is all paid for. With rents the way they are these days it makes no sense to rent that is for sure. You would not believe what rents used to be. When my wife and I first moved to New Orleans(1965)I rented a place in the French Quarter with a balcony and a back deck 4th floor overlooking the Mississippi River and the Ursuline convent for 100 dollars a month. Later we moved down Ursuline St one block and I found a top floor place for 67 dollars a month. Those places now would rent for 1500 or 2000 a month or more. So why rent? So you are a home owner now. At your age that is impressive. Good luck and Bon Chance.
Now that you have bought a house, your "Adult" card should be arriving in the mail and the handbook shortly after. I'd start practicing with "Back in my day..." and "When I was your age..." as soon as possible.
I joke, but I've found myself thinking those things more than I'm comfortable with since Kara and I bought our house. I'm much too young to act that damn old.
