The rhythm of first few lines (including the title line) reminds me of Sappho (although none of the lines is a perfect Sapphic, but perfect Sapphics usually sound silly in English anyhow). Then it gets kind of Whitmanesque, but unlike Whitman, it builds to a peak and then relaxes, as is the more typical pattern in poetry. (Most of Whitman’s poems seem to suffer from male orgasmic dysfunction: the poem just keeps throbbing and pounding away, and then it just ends.)

BTW I don’t know if you missed my additional comments on the 8/2 entry. In any case please be assured that, despite my rhetorical misstep, there is noone on earth of whom I think more highly or for whom I have more affection than the Patron Saint of All Nerdbabes.
