So i bought an eee pc as a temporary replacement for my desktop that fried. I got it 2 days ago and it's already giving me shit. Just in the last 10 minutes i've had to hard boot it because the screen froze, then the screen when white with random lines on it, then it wouldn't boot, then it wouldn't boot. wtf? it's a brand new computer giving me ( Read more... )

I've been looking into getting one of these little things for myself as a mobile PC... I really like the combination of light weight, compact form factor, and long battery life.

they are nice little laptops. I suggest getting one with linux installed (usually comes with more mem and a larger ssd) and then scrapping it for windows or Unbuntu.

yeah, i know about the ubuntu eee (now EasyPeasy) but i just don't have a usb drive or SD card big enough for an os install. I'm going to replace this clunky thing with windows or ubuntu, probably windows cause 90% of all apps out there are more easily run on windows.
