wow I've never seen your drawings before! I really like the one on the bottom right! I think youve captured the emotion of the moment in his face. my only comment is that on the top two I think it'd look more true to model if you widen his muzzle and make his nose larger. It's currently being overwhelmed by the size of his eyes and cheeks. Maybe a good way to improve is to look at the head shape of real lions and lion skulls, and practice some sketching from a reference pic. see how the real life anatomy fits together and that understanding can carry over into your drawings of kovu and the gang.
I think you definitely have the character down pat, you seem to have a very through understanding of what kovu's features look like; his eyes and hair for example, I just think you need more practice in making all those features fit together convincingly.
You've never seen them before because I haven't drawn anything since I was like...11 or 12 years old? At least, I haven't really tried to. There was like...a week at the Table I was trying to learn again, but I didn't get enough help. XD (Whereas now, one of the people I RP with has a certificate in Animation, then a bunch of the others in the same RP have or are working on art degrees of some sort).
I'm amused that you mention his nose...every time I sketch him, I keep complaining about it. XD The nose and muzzle are both kind of a weird shape, and they feel a lot broader than they actually are. It'd be easier to get them the right size and width if I started from the eyes, but for some reason I have trouble doing that.
