Heh. My girlfriend and I make fun of each other every day. It's a form of combative chemistry that we have (that, and we're just both very sarcastic people). Unless one of us goes WAY too far, in no way is it hurtful, so I'd be baffled by all of the follow-on questions. I would think for such a survey to be really useful, there needs to be some kind of metric for determining whether YOU, as a participant in the relationship, regard a certain action as negative or hurtful, and then THAT would trigger the follow-on inquiries about how you and your partner dealt with the fact that a hurtful thing was done ( ... )

I agree, the nature of the questions is very basic. But then again, if the extreme/vast majority of couples had these basic things down, there probably wouldn't be a perceived need for a study. Or couples' counseling. With my frequenting of the advice columns and the nature of my job, it feels like there are an overwhelming number of people that just don't get it ( ... )
