Act It! round 2
Haven't been updating this season yet...
Round 1 was demos, and I was very excited, as a sizable portion of my flist is participating. In Round 2, I got to work with merodi_no_yami on an original scene by Tregatry, which is her own re-imagining of Peter Pan. Sing It! (rounds nine and ten)
OK, missed an update.
Round nine was Backstreet Boys. I sang Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely and tried really hard to sing in a lighter voice, but still got slammed for being too "show-tunesy" and not having enough swagger. Sing It (round eight)
This week was Michael Jackson songs, and I sang You Are Not Alone. My biggest problem was apparently energy, but even so, Dylan ranked me as second for the week, and I made it through. Next up is "Backstreet Boys songs" and I've never heard them sing before. Oh boy... -
Sing It! (round seven)
Hmm... forgot to post.
I covered Marc Anthony's My Baby You for this round, and Peachie Girl loved it, as did a few other girls who listened. The judges - brought in at the last moment since Dylan thought he would otherwise have been judging alone - panned it. Sing It! (round six)
As mentioned earlier, this week was Broadway Week, and I got to do Stars. I worked hard on this one, and it is noticeably better than my previous effort. The night in general was excellent, with tons of great performances. I don't know that we have any weak singers in the final ten, although next week's challenge may be interesting. Sing It (round five)
I usually don't do the immunity rounds, preferring to spend my energy on the main song, but I had found a perfect "spooky" song - Roderic's When the Night Wind Howls, from the second act of Ruddigore. This week was break-up songs; I used This Nearly Was Mine from South Pacific, and finished 7th out of the sixteen who made it through the next round. The ranking, which they had not done before, is important because of the next round. Dylan has selected eighteen songs and we have to pick from them. Sing It! (round three)
Round three was last week, and we were all to do love songs as the theme was Prom Night. I chose to do Some Enchanted Evening, which many of you have heard me do before; however, I did not use that version. I re-recorded one with a brighter feel, and it was enough to get me through the round. There are eighteen of us left now.

A moment of silence please...
... for my computer's hard drive. It died a quiet death last night, leaving behind a user and several peripherals.
I took the computer to the Apple Store, where they confirmed that it is most sincerely dead and under warranty. They need to order a new drive, and I should have it back by Wednesday.

Sing It! (round two)
This will go into my books as "the week I prefer to forget." My assigned theme was "Teeny Bopper night" and I wound up singing Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney. Anybody who has ever heard me sing should find that hilarious. The judges were... incredulous. Speechless.
