speaking of beer that punishes... try arrogant Bastard Ale. The slogan on the bottle is 'you're not worthy'. IMO it's a lot more IPA than stout, as they've put enough hops in it to choke a binge eating cow.
So far everything I've had from the Stone Brewery has been excellent including Arrogant Bastard. My favs so far are Arrogant Bastard Oak Cask and the Russian Imperial Stout. But my absolute fav? Stone's Sublimly Self-Rightous Ale. I was lucky enough to get 2 bottles of the limited run. If you see it anywhere please let me know. I needs more! :-)
Have you guys finally gotten Yeungling in GA? If so, you should give the Porter a whirl. Good stuff - my current favorite. I'll probably bring some along to Dragon Con with me.
Well then, assuming I come to D*C, and if I drive, I'll definitely bring some Yeungling Porter along with me. Maybe some selections from the Penn Brewery as well.
Yes... 4x4 will look at me and ask "Animal play drums?" and I'll (in Animal fashion) reply "Animal no play drums... Animal EAT drums!"
We are going to have a RockBand party in the near future (to try and get rid of the rest of the alcohol from the wedding)... you and your girl MUST come jam with us! *wink*
Glad you enjoyed it! I've been meaning to start cataloging/reviewing all the wonderful brews I've sampled as of late and the feedback here is doing nothing but encouraging me to continue. Oh, you poor souls. ;-)
Fat Tire from the tap is alot better (same with all beer) BUT if you want a beer that will grab your tounge rip it around your head and beat your ass with it... see if they carry "Sierra Nevada Chico IPA" I dunno if you can get anywhere besides Chico but if you can find it its one for you.
Honestly I love fat tire. Its an amazing beer and worth the cost.
Also if you havent tried it get a Xingu its an interesting one for ya. I can get you a long beer list of excellent brews from this side of the coast to see if that store carrys it if you would like.
I've had the Chico Harvest ale. Yummy stuff! I'm a big fan of Sierra Nevada, currently the Torpedo has been doing my taste buds just right. I had a Xingu for the first time last week, and very much enjoyed it. Of course, I'll need to do more *ahem* research with it to give it a grade. :-)

I love the tone, and the "slightly toasty" line made me guffaw. My wife didn't think it quite so funny, but she did ask what made me laugh so loud.
Looking forward to more (if they happen)
