Among many other things that I agree with in this journal entry... I have to stress that if the pres. did hold his principles to north korea, we would totally be in trouble ( ... )

Dont get me wrong i in no way am looking to start a war with North Korea but shouldnt we at least take the diplomatic approach and take to them. I dont see how avoiding them helps either ( ... )

Dude, take an economics class. It's rather simple-minded to expect that raising the minimum wage would rid the country of poverty. It would merely increase inflation and, more importantly, force companies to hire fewer and fewer entry level employees. Money doesn't grow on trees, so if we raise minimum wage to say, 11 dollars, that's millions more a company is forced to spend a year. Any reasonable corporation will simply cut back the amount of human capital it hires.....therefore FEWER JOBS. Don't read into the hype....do the research. Not to mention economics is cyclical. It's rather difficult to pin a recession soley on a president, democratic or republican. And as for your argument to nationalize healthcare? Look to Canada...see how they're doing. Everyone thinks that it's so perfect over there. Not quite. The line has gotten so long for serious procedures that they are actually triaging patients knowing full well many will die. In addition, fewer and fewer doctors are in training because there is no longer much incentive (ie ( ... )

Youre the one beating around the bush here (no pun intended). 11 dollars is way too high. Kerry in his debates (not from DAN RATHERS OR MICHAEL MOORE) discussed raising it nationally to $7 and Bush too agreed that the minimum wage is currently way too low its simply not something hes looking to address any time soon. It sounds like youre just trying to flex your knowledge on economics - im glad you passed ECON101 ( ... )

gimme a break you guys sound like a bunch of women bitching and complaining to each other about how bush screwed up the country. listen here bob,or whoever you are. abortion is not illegal and why should you care..are you a woman? The economy is not based solely on the president, and you think it is then the when i checked the market today the dow was up around +150 after kerry conceded. about the draft, love it or leave, if you registered to vote you obviously registered with selective service so its your responsibility to fight for your country. Gay marriage not accepted by religions, so there's a seperation between religion and state. The only reason why the government opposes it is because of all the social security fraud that will happen with it. Hey man i guess that joke email relates to the patriot act. If someone says bomb on a plane what happens. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Getting good healthcare these days is expensive...you know why, its called malpractice premiums. everyone sues the doctors for malpractice, ( ... )

I guess its your turn to listen here bob, or whoever you are. Abortion is not illegal but for how much longer? a few months? and youre right im not a woman but does that mean i shouldnt care about the issue? Show a little sensitivity, as a man its not my right to place restrictions on the opposite sexes' bodies. Last i heard Bush isnt female either so i guess he shouldnt care right ( ... )

Ha, you people are ridiculous. The problem with your arguments underlines the problems with our democratic system. Every person's comment is about extremes and how everything is completely bad or completely good. The current state of the union, better yet world, may not be awful but there is plenty of room for improvement. Possible solutions may not be the right solutions but they give us something to work off of ( ... )
