So demmened amusing! How much I adore reading about Sir Percy. I have finished reading all the novels, and in the middle of the "Exploits" already, not to mention seen all the movies that I could get my hands on, rewatched Takarazuka's and original English production, and listened to the soundtracks in all the languages I could find countelss times, but it simply isn't enough...

Actually, he was in France several times before the revolution, both as a child and as an adult. And even though his father did die rather early, Sir Percy was mostly in school at that point in time, it wasn't until some time later that he returned to France again.
He should be almost exactly five years younger than her, though...

I don't know wheather you have read the books or not, but you have caught his character practically head-on.

I pry you, do write more...

Is Percy really that old? This is the one thing I've never quite been able to work out from the books and I was only sure of Oscar, as she was meant to be about 38 at this point. While we get Marguerite's age waved about over and over again, I could never find Percy's. I do so adore him regardless, though :D

And on this occasion, it's the first time he's been to the Royal court, and mostly because of his father's demise :) Though I would really love to know more about Percy's mother, as briefly as she is mentioned.

(And there is a follow-up story for this, following the storming of the Bastille, but I haven't yet managed to write it :))

Well, Baroness herself never really bothered with such pesky things like "timeline" or "personal history" or any sort of consistency whatsoever. Even the order in which she wrote the books... yeah ( ... )

Ah, I see :) I'd only read the main books, particularly the part where Percy's father took them abroad to be away from prying eyes :) I liked the idea of teenage Percy having the run of the continental countryside and showing up as the prodigal son when his parents died. I think my brain mostly latched onto that because he's managed to hide how smart he is for so long - better to reappear acting the fool than to grow as a bright man who suddenly turns the fool when he hits a certain age.
