A Letter to My Mother's Brothers

Preacher Uncle is in town for the week. Yesterday evening I dropped off the below letter at Lawyer Uncle's house, where Preacher Uncle is staying for a couple of days. The envelope was addressed to both of them - I can only hope they both read it and got the message

Oh my effing sweet and holy Christ. Lawyer is really, really lucky that I don't live in town anymore. Worthless sack of shit. He's unemployed and has one kid out of the house? He needs to get the fuck over it. And stop taking his elderly father's money.

You know why you still don't understand? Because it doesn't make any fucking sense. Complicated is life. Hard is life. You know this better than a vast majority of people, and still you stand and plow and run at everything life throws at you. You handle your shit, period.

OH MAN. I want to drive up there and kick that guy's ass now more than ever. Honey, I am so sorry there isn't really anything I can do.

No response. None. Preacher Uncle left town yesterday and I never heard a word from him or Lawyer either one. Preacher did go through enough of the piled mail to find the specific tax forms I was missing, but since Mom told him they were missing, it's not necessarily a comment on my letter.

Honestly, the lack of a response is frustrating me. At least have the decency to respond to me, ya know?
