This isn't really a FAQ type of question, more of a personal preference really :)

I was wondering, how do you decide wether to provide your graphics for public use? I've read you've enjoyed making them but how do you deal with thieves etc?

I was asking because I myself, enjoy making graphics (more layouts then others) and was considering making my own journal to post them in for public use, but I was just looking around graphics communities yesterday and read about the amount of people who rip the orginal makers, which has currently made me re-think my idea.

How did you weigh out the pros and cons of providing you work for public use?

No, this is definitly the best place!

Honestly.. Im really tired of theives. Thats what makes me rethink making graphics sometimes.

I mean, I deal with it ALL the time. Sometimes I just get sick of it. I will never post my graphics public, just becuase I made a mistake doing that one time.

I guess thats one of the only things...now there are alot of laws on copyright and they have even added some things for graphic makers! This makes it a lot easier.

Other then dealing with theives, thats the only con. I love it because I get paid for what I do, and people really appeciate it. I keep getting motivated by peoples comments to me, etc.

I deal with theives by talking to them first, I would honestly like to get their side of the story first. If they are INSISTENTLY being rude and won't give up, you can pursue legal action.

Haha, well we already have like a family lawyer. But like if you didn't have a lawyer, then you could hire one.

Its really tricky though with the copyrights though.. there's some loopholes. Since Graphics are pretty new to the laws.. they haven't fully developed everything yet.

You should really talking with someone about it first before oyu get caught up.. its kinda tricky.

That would be pretty cool if you could customize it. Maybe with a paid account and a lot of s1/s2 knowledge you probably could!
