You! Rock!

I read this at work, and I'm so glad that I did, because I wouldn't have wanted to wait for such excellent Oz/Xander goodness. Really fine stuff, wonderful details throughout. Some of my favorites bits -- Willow hopping out of her seat and getting all up into Angel's face; the bonding of Jesse and Xander squashing Cordelia's sand castle when they were little boys; Xander recognizing Willow's "can you push me on the swing?" voice; the awkwardness and sulkiness of this version of teen-age Angel on a break from Buffy. Lovely stuff, especially:

And Willow was staring at him like he had done something wonderful, the same look she'd worn when he wrote that paper about Frankenstein and mistakes and outcasts and forgiveness, the same look he'd gotten when he'd traded a broken yellow crayon for the one fresh out of his box. This made me tear up, honestly -- such great work with establishing the tenor of the friendship that Xander and Willow have, their fierce investment in one another, the way that she wants things for him/from ( ... )

I'm so very glad you enjoyed it. I was a bit nervous about it, as it's my first piece of BtVS slash. Your review absolutely made my day, and I was thrilled beyond words to see that you rec'd it.

Zinged along here on entrenous88's recommendation, and can't add much to her praises for this fic- except to say that when I read the review for the DVD release of "My Own Private Idaho" I wondered for a moment why it didn't show up in slash fic more often, so I get a little glow of prescience finding it here.

Anyhow: wow. Love that Xander and Oz are united by an appreciation for "The Seventh Seal" and that Willow defies Big! Dork! Angel, and that Angel, big dork that he is, can't quite see why girls would react to boy's kissing the way boys react to girls.

Love this. Recommended at The S'cubie Board Reading Recommendations Area in the slash thread.

Julia, following links from other people's friends is being a good use of my time today

So glad you enjoyed it! Xander's appreciation of "Seventh Seal" is pretty close to mine. I saw it about 10 years ago, and habitually forget the title, so I just refer to it as "that cool movie with the guy who plays chess with death."

Thanks for reccing this. It really means a lot to me that people liked it enough to pass it along.

Lovely fic and I was very taken with your perceptive, manipulative Willow because I can see Xander being this much of a sucker where she's concerned. ::grin::

The kiss was so very hot.

Thanks! Glad you liked the kiss. I had an interesting moment when I finished the fic, and realized my "boys kissing" story ended up having two paragraphs of kissing out of 12 pages of plot. But if the kiss was hot, that's all that matters :)

I'm here because entrenous88 pimped you, and I'm very glad she did!

This was marvelous! I say "ditto" to the above comments, plus add my delight in the minimalist, half-unspoken-yet-communicated-volumes exchange between Xander and Willow that Oz understood but Buffy and Angel so obviously didn't.

Well done!

Thanks! I wasn't actually sure if the abbreviated conversation between Willow and Oz would work outside of my head, and I'm glad it made sense.

I so much adore and love this (and wonder if you've read my Xoz stories? Please?) that I am going to, right here on my lunch hour, write a story for Jess' thon-a-thing.
Yessss.

I'm saving this.

You are my new best friend.

Wanna be in Bakery!Slash? That's how much I love this.

Thanks! I went and read your X/O stories - I'd never seen them before. Good stuff. I love the one where Oz comes back for Xander, even if he doesn't know it.

Wanna be in Bakery!Slash? That's how much I love this.

Thanks, I'm incredibly flattered. I actually haven't written a whole lot (see AN#2), and I'm afraid that would be biting off far more than I can chew.

You misunderstand me! tesla321 May 24 2005, 19:39:31 UTC
This tells me that you've never read anything else that I write. (I'm not offended. Lots of people don't!)

Bakery!Slash is a WIP that I write solo. It's an RPS with all the JossVerse characters working in a mythical supermarket, based on the unfortunate series of events that is sweptawaybayou's's life as a bakery manager. The actual title of the story is "Midnight in the Bakery of Good and Evil." When I ask if someone wants to be in it, I just give their name to a minor character.

Never mind that. Let's have you write more high school Xoz!
