This was very good and totally believable. Funny, I'm actually happy for John. Also, Weir comes across just right :)

Heh, yes. But at the same time, can you really blame him? I've always thought that Atlantis was a last-ditch alternative for John. If he had a better one lined up, I just can't see him choosing Atlantis.

Very cool. I love AUs like this, it leaves me thinking all kinds of things about what would have happened to the Atlantis expedition without him. I also like that bit of smart-ass attitude he has with Weir.

I had just watched Rising again, and had forgotten just how badly John mouths off to Sumner. He really does, though.
