My Baby is having babies....

Most people know Moca is having puppies.

She had a vet check up yesterday along with an x-ray. It only took about 10 mins and we got to see inside Moca's belly. Bet you can't guess as to how many pups? Most chihuahuas only have 1-3 pups.

It's going to be 4 possibly 5 pups. They saw only 4 skulls but 5 spines. So, We will not know for sure until she has them. Moca should deliver very soon. Her temp has been at 100.7 as soon as it drops below 100 than the pups should come.

Usually you count skulls because counting spines can be tricky and misleading sometimes.

After she has her pups, I'd strongly recommend getting a follow up xray if she only has 4, to make sure there isn't a misformed puppy still inside her.

I usually say 3-5 days, which coincides with dewclaw removal if needed for pups. However, since there's some doubt as to how many pups she has, I'd call your vet and ask, and go with what they say. If she has 4 they may want to see her sooner on the better safe than sorry principle.
