USA passes the health care bill...and hilarity ensues

I didn't have health care in the US. I couldn't afford it. I would have died without medication. I had to go to a free clinic run by volunteers and donations to get my medicine. People bitched every week that it took too damn long and people should work faster. This coming from people with cell phones, gold chains, nice cars, starter jackets, etc. ( Read more... )

Ah, such a slippery slope this piece of legislation has brought. It's just another band-aid to placate the masses. Yet, this legislation still leaves people vulnerable. It doesn't cover vision or dental which can both be used to detect a myriad of health problems before they become too expensive to treat. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if members of Congress think that either all people already have that or that it was somehow included. It also doesn't say that doctors will be paid a living wage that will cover their school loans, malpractice insurance (which is bound to go up with more patients), other practice related costs, and still allow them to eat ( ... )
