Linguiphiles may get pissy if we speak off topic further...
There are a number of dissidents in the eBay community that warn about what we are talking about. What happens is that PayPal will take the buyer's word without any hearing, it's their policy. If there's any issue at all, the seller loses privileges, gets their account shut down, etc.
Part of the problem is as you say, the costs of shipping internationally. You take your chances, you get screwed... whether it's a non-paying bidder or a buyer who claims they never got their item, we sellers get screwed.
I am just contemplating to get back in to eBay, I have so much stuff to sell... but I'm of two minds. The best thing to do is insist on buyer paying for some form of trackability. Good luck.
