I technically don't have to worry about much 'cept provincial exams...which after taking IB exams is like a walk through the park...with ice cream and sunshine. So. My summer resolutions/plans ('cause I don't do New Year's ( Read more... )

I liked Dubliners better than Portrait, but I'm not a huge fan of Joyce's style in general, I guess ( ... )

I only chose Portrait 'cause one of my teachers loves it and thinks one of the passages is the greatest piece of literature ever written ^^

I've been there, that's where I read The Little Prince anyhow ^^. It might be nice to try and learn French, though I doubt I will be able to...

"Rosencrantz & Guidenstern Are Dead (actually, watch the movie of that one, it's directed by the playwright Tom Stoppard)"

Actually, I plan on watching the play. They're doing it for Bard on the Beach. I will add Catch-22 and Hitchhiker's though. And please, NO existential writing. I hated L'etranger (well, the english version anyhow)

New Testament. I'm planning on reading some summaries first just so I don't on in completely uninformed. And maybe watch Veggie Tales or something ^__^;;;

Yeah, my english teacher said the same thing. x_x; maybe it's just me.

Aha, lucky. R&G is a great play, though the movie has its perks - actual locations and some movie magic in the transitions and such. Though, it is an absurdist play, making it existential? According to my teacher, Catch-22 is as well. Hitchhiker's is just plain odd, though I couldn't stop laughing the whole time. It's actually one I'd recommend as a book on tape, if you can get the version read by the author. The story was meant to be heard - it started as a BBC Radio show, after all.
