Thoughts upon re-reading Naruto
Yes, that's right, I re-read it...ALL OF IT...and got caught up
Re-reading this, I'm amazed at how early the snake-slug-frog imagery started to come into play. I remember seeing the images before and looking at the slug going "...*squint* what's that thing?" But now that I re-read the whole series...dang. Can't believe it started back in like, Ch. 4, I think it was? *is greatly impressed*
And I have a horrible memory. Either that or it's been WAY too long since I read it. I can't believe I forget that Temari and Kankuro were Gaara's siblings. I REALLY hate myself for forgetting that Lee comes to the rescue when Naruto was fighting...that bone guy... especially since the whole drunken fist thing is <3<3<3<3<3 (anyone wanna teach me how to make real hearts?)
Um, let's see, what else...Oh, for some reason, reading it this time around, I'm convinced that Itachi is not evil. Or at least not completely, corrupt to the core, Orochimaru type evil. ...Or maybe after the Byakuya thing I'm just partial to big brothers...
I have come to one major conclusion about Naruto characters--hugs. They all need hugs. I'm freaking serious. Naruto, Gaara (ESPECIALLY Gaara), Sasuke...etc. Really, hugs all around. ...That and therapy. But seriously, I feel the urge to hug my laptop screen every time there's one of those lonely!child!Gaara moments. Especially when there's the flashback parallel comparison betwen Naruto and Gaara and Gaara just gets smaller and smaller...
Speaking of Gaara.... if he's actually dead, I will be EXTREMELY PISSED. And I mean extremely. He is, at the moment, incredibly high up on my fav. anime characters list. But then, we've seen this before, huh? Manga-ka makes character irresistably likable...then kills them off. Granted, I'm thinking of Hughes and that's a diff. series, diff. manga-ka, but....>.<;;; Gaara had better be alive. I don't care what far-fetched excuse they come up with to bring him back, he had BETTER NOT BE DEAD. *cries*
