AME-CON!!!!
What can I really say? It's been a while since I last posted on LJ, and there's been alot going on in my life. I dunno if it's just stuff I don't want to talk about or whether alot of it has come out in Sharp's posts, but I feel it's time I start posting again!
So, lets get the most recent event out of the way,
Amecon
Amecon was a lot of fun this year! Sharp came around to mine in brum on the Wednesday prior to the con. Aiming to finish cosplay that was very closed to being finished. There was much fire and happy ^_^ I also got my hair cut, which I had been meaning to do for a while. Thursday we went into brum for some last minute things for the cosplay, had a few people over that day as well, including Nick whom it was nice to see again, even if it was only briefly. In the evening Sharp had a surprise when it turned out Washu was also staying the night before the con courtesy of James. Small world!
Friday came, apparently the trains weren't working as there was a derailment on our line and the trains wouldn't be functional again until later in the day. Resultantly we got the National Express coach service to Leicester and taxied to the Hotel. After we dumped stuff off, and headed over to the con. Met up with various people that I only really knew through WoW. Pub Quiz. Opening Ceremony. Drinks. Pretty much sums up the Friday.
Saturday we got up later due to my not feeling well :( Later popping back to pick up my violin which I brought in for Tom. Masquerade was good although there was quite a bit of lag between the room people were coming out of and the room we were in, which was mildly annoying but all in all, there were some fantastic costumes (even if most of them were final fantasy ones :P) After the masquerade we stayed in for the auction which was fun, other than Sharp's random comments at Dave about every few minutes! Funnily he also lost out on the Gundam Nike Shoes(!) to Mac-man! :P Other fun items included Traveling Sketchbook, glow-in-the-dark Evas and Transformers, as well as Microsoft's generous donation of a Premium Xbox and various games to Sony's generous donation of a couple of PS3 demo CDs :P After the Auction came the Hentai Panel. Which both Sharp and I gophered at :O Tom failed for leaving during the pig sex :P
Sunday came, I was still feeling unwell, missed the Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen tournament which could have been fun but got up for the Omake which was again, fantastic and lots of fun. Also spawned the biggest in joke of the con this year with the presence of Chair and his evil Twin. After this I found out that some of the guys did the Unhinged Magic Draft which I believe Tom won. ^_^ Sadly we didn't get to see the presence of Lady's Knight :P Gopher Party resulted in Noriko figurine. End of Con party was great this year, brought plenty of glow sticks with me (100!) which were lots of fun. Mental note: bring some to Minami. Went back with Tom, Phil, Rob, Sharp, Gaz, Loz, Borat and breifly drunk Beth. Other than accidentally drinking a glow stick and mistaking Sharp's Whiskey for Irn Bru, I think it went pretty well X_X
There's probably more I could go into with my life at the moment, although I will save it for another post.
