The nice thing about the Bay Area is that it's a great place to work. I was feeling a bit bored / disconnected towards the end of my stay on the East Coast, but things have been going really well here. I'm working on lots of projects I'm excited about, and I can easily meet up with my coworkers to work on things together. Also I get to see my Bay

I repeat the importance of finding a good place to live here. I know you're working on it... but I guess I just mean don't underestimate the pernicious and constant effect of a not-okay living situation on one's well-being.

Ditto. You need a home. And for a cook, it's extra important that you need a space you feel is yours to cook in.
