I'm with you on the credit card hate. I've got a debit Mastercard; if I don't have the money in my account, I don't need to buy it. It means there are weeks when I have to get financially creative because I've only got $10 in my account (car + insurance eats up a hefty portion of my income), but at least I'm staying within a set limit.
