my ipod broke (4 years of good tunes, never filled up all 20GB) so Im thinking of getting a phone with an mp3 player. Is this a bad idea? ipods cost $200+ anyway.
seems like a good idea because there's less crap to carry around i also do not keep track of this shit i got shannon a sansa 8gb for her birthday last year, she said the sound quality was better and i like the front panel/buttons but like the ipod the user interface is pretty awful
just by idly looking - most blackberry models dont even SAY how many gigs of music they hold (if even a gig...) and i really don't want to buy an iphone.
I looked into this and the trouble is most phones don't emphasize capacity or music playing as much. Features & ad copy from i-phone rivals talk more about internet browsing capabilities. They call these "smartphones" and they cost a good deal more than a normal mp3 player ($400-600, though I suppose you'll get a fair discount if you sign a contract). Most of them (like a blackberry I checked out at newegg.com) have about 64MB (yes MB) onboard and a microSD flash slot, so you can buy a card separately (8GB for ~$90, 2gb for ~$15
( ... )
the nokia Xpress looks like it might be good - only 100 bucks and comes with 1GB for media. Ive also had nokias my whole life and they're kinda lame and endearing. I think I may go to a T-mobile store and see if adding 8GB is any problem
