Two of my dear mezzo friends have extremely exotic names. I think they automatically sing better because of it.

That made me laugh out loud. To make things even worse, my last name is Baglio (pronouced Bah-lio in Italian). Together it makes pretty much the most awesome opera name ever. It's exotic, and no one can tell where I'm originally from. When I got married, my voice teacher forbade me from changing my name to Arnold. I laughed and said "like I even considered it!"

You could combine Beth the Mezzo into one word. That would be fairly exotic:

"'allo, my name eez Bethametzo and I will be singing Orlofsky's aria"
