I'm so happy I had literal tears in my eyes when I saw pics of it, no lie.

In case you guys still don't know about it, YEAH IT'S BEEN 20 YEARS SINCE GD'S WAS FIRST PUBLISHED ARE YOU PROUD I'M SO DAMN PROUD

And Morimoto-sensei made a 20th Anniversary Artbook for it and I want it so much it pains me why do I have no money and I found a kind soul

Yeah everytime I think about it I feel like another cute kitten or puppy is born somewhere and my heart positively swells. Or angsts over the fact that i probably will never have it in my hands. It's very roller-coaster-esque.

Wowwwww 12 years! Amazing :O for me it's... Almost 2 years I guess? Which isn't that long haha (heck, the series is older than I am. Wait omg yeah) but long enough for it to capture my heart completely tho!

You can read Japanese right? :) Hope you and other Japanese-reading fans will be able to make out what's written in those photos! I only know from what the OP mentioned, so you guys might have a better experience with those pics XD

Omi and Kou: 腐れ縁

Aww, it kind of bums me out to see Omi and Kou listed that way, because the implication of 腐れ縁 is that they're sort of...less than friends? Like they just seem to end up in the same place [school or career or whatever] without really meaning to. I hope she is planning on getting them together.

Miura and Shima

There's something between Miura and Shima? *headtilt* I don't remember that at ALL.

Dang, I really want this book! Not looking at the scans, though, because it'll make the book itself less exciting. It should go in my next manga order (sometime in August, probably). If nobody else has by then, I may be inspired to do some translations of some parts?

That was the impression I got from the post at least... (Man I wish I know how to read Japanese. Just started learning a bit only, so.... :/) I've been waiting for them to get together for so long *__*

If I remember correctly, Shima is interested in him? I thought there was this short where she sat beside him under the tree and took a photo of him, or sth like that. Was it a 4-koma?

Oh, for sure, and it's not that 腐れ縁 precludes that or anything....when I think about it, it made me a little sad because I think of them as partners, but of course as characters they (or at least, Omi?) don't think of themselves that way, so really it makes sense for them. I doubt Omi thinks of anyone as his friend, honestly, so maybe 腐れ縁 isn't so bad, haha.

20 years... Stunning!
Morimoto-sensei is a wonderful artist... wrongly unknown...
Her works are always enthralling, elaborate, very inventive and, especially, her characters are incredibly endearing.
I LOVE the relationships between all these characters : lovers, friends, etc.
All her works are attractive... and fluffly... and cute... So cute! Resistance is futile.

In my case, I known ''G-Defend'' for about 9 years. This is my first shonen-ai manga. I discovered it by chance. Love at first sight, plain and simple.
This manga is the perfect combination of everything I like : science-fiction, action, romance, many characters (especially men), various relationships, etc.
So yes, I'm really happy for this 20th anniversary and I really proud of Morimoto-sensei. My thanks and encouragements go to her...

I agree with you on all parts *chinhands and dreamy sigh* Near nothing can make me brighten my mood as instantly and as long-lasting as GD. I really love how big the cast in and how she still manages to make me love nearly all of them! And the slow character development for the seemingly minor characters, ajkfhskdjdgjlkdgjd

Ever thankful for when I stumbled across it, and even more so for that time when I rediscovered it after forgetting about it the first time (what a mistake!) Of course, I never let it go after that xDD

And I'm really envious about how y'all have known it for so long *^* And in some ways, respect! :D Everyone here is a senpai haha

Wow, this is awesome!! It's really hard to believe that G Defend has been publishing 20 years and counting!! I've been reading it since 2004!! Too bad there's very slim chance of it being licensed in America because it's 40+ volumes. ;_;

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh...some shiptease with Sasai and Jou??? It's nice to see Jou finally shacking up with somebody!! But, I'm a little sad. This might sound weird but I did like the idea of pairing Sasai up with those twins. I don't usually go for those type of relationships, but their scenes together were subtly hawt!! But ah well, there's always fanfiction!!

Well, congratulations on 20+ years G Defend!! If you go on for another 20+ years I'd still like to read!!
