I can make animated gifs!!! yay!! (finally). Thanks to an newspaper article I read which was actually about cellphones, on how to make your own wallpapers, ringtones and screensavers, I found out about a program
called PHOTOSCAPE which allows you (among other things) to make animated gifs!!! The program is free and is not really too heavy to download (just 10 MB is reasonable enough even for a dial-up user like me), the only catch (for me anyways) is that it's not Mac-compatible, works only on Windows, well, I can't install any new programs anyways 'cause my old Ibook doesn't have enough memory but fortunately since I have a PC at work and I work for my Dad...I can do what I want with the PC (except killing it!). So it is double work for me, 'cause I have to start the work on my Mac, arraging the pics-icon bases-frames-whatever on my Photoshop 7, save them on a CD and open them on Photoscape (which is quite simple to use by the way), so finally!!!! I can make animated icons!!!!!!! yeepyyy!! *jumps up and down*
I made a few trial-icons to see how it works, they are not the greatest thing of course, this is just a start...
(this one really was the first trial I made, I used some Icons I had made on Photohsop to see how the animation worked)
(the first real animated icon I guess..)
(I wanted to make one with bases from their music video but the animation ended up being too heavy to use as a user-icon, it is over 40KB)
(after several attempts and removing some of the frames, I ended up with an acceptable file size for LJ so this one can be used as a user-icon)
mmmm...all the mischievous things I'm going to do with animation!!!! *evil laugh*
