I know I don't really know the whole situation but I don't think your parents should even know about Matt's kids. They don't seem like nice people so they don't deserve to know about the kids and it seems like you're better without your parents. I know they're your parents but what you said happened last time, you don't need that.
Sorry if I'm saying things that will offend you. Like I said, I don't know the whole story.
no you're not offending me at all. i appreciate that you care enough to give your opinion.
the main reason i'm even telling them is because of matt's family. i don't want them to think that the reason i haven't said anything is because i'm embarrassed by the kids. so it's really more of proving that to my in-laws than trying to get everyone to be One Big Happy Family...because i know it's not going to happen, at least not any time soon. and it's also sort of like i'm giving my parents another chance to be decent human beings by letting them in more. this way if they start acting like jerks again, i'll have the right to say, "hey, you wanted to be a part of my life again, well they are a part of my life and if you can't accept it, that's your bad.
Aww I hope this whole thing goes better for you. I agree with you on the religion thing. And I think you're a pretty cool step-mother haha. Good luck with your parents and stuff.
thank you, i appreciate that. i just can't bring myself to force any sort of belief or opinion or what have you on anyone. my dad told my mom he wouldn't marry her unless she converted to judaism and raised their kids jewish as well. i've always thought that's wrong and i never want to raise a family based on something that one person wants.
falling2pieces_ basically said what I was thinking. I'm sorry about all the bad stuff and hope everything works out as well as it can.
And, yay! for your budding House interest *claps* I highly recommend Hugh Laurie's previous series, Jeeves & Wooster... if you're into British comedy. Which, at this moment, I've had a brain fart and can't remember if you are. ;)
oh yeah, i've seen a couple episodes of jeeves and wooster. my mom and i used to watch it, along with fawlty towers and are you being served and stuff like that. if it wasn't for her, i wouldn't have been obsessed with monty python at age 10. my mom's a pretty cool person by herself most of the time...it's just when my dad's around she becomes this little robot slave of his and i can't reason with her.
